What that means, is that try to predict the possible answer for the question before looking at the answers themselves. The fact is that the answers in the NBDE part 1 are always misleading, so if you do look at the answers before predicting it, you might confuses yourself. Thus, predict, look at answers and follow your instinct.
The answers are not made up and all answers might seem valid, so always eliminate the answers that you are 100% sure is wrong or irrelevant to the question.
Try to choose the answer that is obvious and don’t assume that its a trick question, trying to be smart will just make you change your answer, so go with you gut instinct.
Some words might seem complicated it, so break it up to smaller words either prefix, suffix or root words, they might shed some light on the meaning.
Look at the answers and try to group them up to catergories or things they share, this will help the brain answer better and get a better perspective on what is needed.
Sometimes you would read the answers in a hurry and forget completely the questions, keep the question in mind because you might end up selecting a question you know or understand and not an answer for the question.
When you see in the answers two opposites, its most likely one of them is the correct answer. While when you see multiple answers that are opposite try to choose the opposite that is single or alone.
Its obvious that that you will read the question but pay close attention to words like “but”, “however”, “while”, “on the other hand”…etc.
Avoid answers that state “Always” , “exactly”, “Never”. they are most likely wrong. On the other hand, make sure if you do find something while studying stating something that is extreme, MEMORISE IT!
Avoid answers that are slang or common in language and try to go for the answers that are “scientific”.
Keep calm and do deep breathing while in the exam. Its natural for you to feel scared and worried that you might fail, but worrying during the exam will not make your odds better in will infact distract you. So focus on the questions and stop negative thinking.
JazakAllah,Remember me in your Prayers :)
